Matheran - Day 2

Excited after successfully accomplishing our trek, we walked along the railway lines trudging ourselves to our hotel. We were famished along the way and had our lunch at a local Maharashtrian Dhaba. The food was simple and tasted delicious.

As we reached our hotel, we were all tired and exhausted. We had plans of visiting the view points the next day.

The next day, we walked back to the Matheran station and started with the Alexander point. Then we visited the Little chowk point and One tree point. There were lot of crowd in these viewpoints.

Then we visited the Charlotte lake, Echo point, Louisa point and Monkey point. After this we came across the Panorama point. This was simply breathe taking.

By then it was evening and we made it to the Sunset point just to catch the sunset. There were lots of tourists waiting to catch the sunset from there. The view was really beautiful from there.

There were many more points. But by the time we covered this, we had to go back to the hostel to checkout. Then we headed backed to Matheran station and then to Neral just in time to catch out train back to Hyderabad.

Matheran - Day 1

I was all excited for the trek to Matheran because this is one of my must do treks. Being from Mumbai, I have visited Matheran so many times but never tried trekking. So I was looking forward for this trek.

We reached Neral by train around morning. Rohit was supposed to meet us outside Neral station. We planned to have heavy breakfast while waiting for him to join us. Once he came, we all hired a taxi to Dasturi Naka. As we neared, it started raining slightly.

We started the trek to Peb fort. All along the way, Rohit was telling us many stories and jokes during his travel earlier. He had been to his place many times and was familiar with the route. Due to the rains the grasses were all slippery and we had great difficulty in walking.

Along the way, we had to climb rocky walls and narrow lanes with deep valleys on both sides. Finally we made it to the summit.
